Contraindications To Consult Your Doctor About

Acute Inflammation

Avoid vibroacoustic therapy if you have active infections, open wounds, recent surgery, or acute inflammation.

This includes those conditions in which inflammation is in an acute phase where treatment can exacerbate pain.

Neurological Conditions

People with a history of seizures, epilepsy, or severe brain injuries should be cautious and may need consultation before using vibroacoustic therapy.

Cancer in Metastasis

Enhanced circulation could influence the spread of cancer cells.

Thrombosis or (DVT) Deep Vein Thrombosis

Increased circulation may pose risks in individuals with blood clots.

Pregnancy

Especially in the early stages as the effects of vibrations and frequencies are not fully understood. There is no apparent evidence that vibroacoustic therapy can damage the fetus or the normal maturation of the baby. It would be best to avoid the treatment until there is more research on the effects of vibratory stimulation.

Sound bath techniques are a much safer alternative to vibroacoustic therapy.

Severe Cardiovascular and/or Respiratory Conditions

Vibrations, depending on the intensity, may aggravate or overwhelm these conditions.

Hypertonia

In some cases, vibroacoustic therapy can cause a reduction in both systolic and diastolic pressure. Sound bowls are a great alternative to vibroacoustic therapy as the stimulation can be placed in different regions of the body.
